Senior Frontend Engineer
Build and maintain our web, mobile, and TV applications. Help bring our ambitious vision to life!
About Playback
At Playback, we’re building the future of sports TV. We believe sports are at their best when enjoyed together — with your friends, at a bar, or in the stadium — yet online streaming remains a frustratingly solitary experience. We’re making sports streaming a community-first activity by building a home for sports creators (think podcasters) and their communities to hang out watch live games together, all perfectly synced.
Since our founding in 2019, we’ve reached key partnerships with the NBA and EuroLeague, with more leagues and rights coming soon, making Playback the first (and only!) streaming platform to offer users the ability to watch live sports together. We use cutting-edge tech to power the platform, leaning heavily on WebRTC for realtime audio and video. You can learn a bit more about our both our tech and our vision here:
- Fast Company: This sports media company is turning fans into creators

We’ve raised over $20M from top-tier investors, most recently closing our Series A round (announcement forthcoming). Come help us build the future of live sports!
Why work at Playback?
At Playback, you’ll have the opportunity to build a potentially category-defining product in a massive market. As an early hire, your contributions will have a tangible impact on the future of our product, and you’ll have the opportunity to define your own role as we grow.
We’re well-funded, have product market fit, and our user base is highly engaged and growing quickly — our average user spends over 3 hours and 15 minutes in a Playback room every week! And in a world of buzzwords and cliches, we genuinely believe that our product enriches our users’ lives by providing meaningful social experiences. As one of our users described it, “I love this - normally I am yelling at the TV by myself, now I get to yell with everyone else!”
